Fashion My Style Shoes and Accessories

Denim and Tassels

June 30, 2016

How much do I love tassels? Let me count the ways! So much so that I made it a double-the-fun affair with this outfit! I don’t know what it is , but there is something about tassels that makes my heart leap for joy. I think the overall playful appearance of tassels appeals to my inner child- I’ll call her Afrostylicette. But I digress…what else is new? *chuckle* Anyway back to the outfit details…

This was a casual-and very comfortable, I might add-  outfit I wore on a laid back weekend. I love the slight off-shoulder look of the blue striped top from Charlotte Russe, making it suitable for work-wear as well. If you don’t know this already, I’m a sucker for versatility. I’m usually wary of stripes; however, in this case, the vertical lines worked in my favor. I got this particular top in a size small; however, I think if I’d gone up a size or two, I’d have achieved the full off-shoulder look. If that’s the look you’re going for, I’d recommend sizing up.

The fitted jeans would have made for a very simple look if I hadn’t paired them with this pair of super comfortable, red tasseled block-heel sandals from New Look. The shoes and playful bag added ‘sugar and spice, and all things nice’ to the overall look. On a side note, for some reason, the bag reminds me of an old western movie. It might have something to do with the suede tasseled jackets I remember seeing on the screen as  a wide-eyed child who was drawn to old movies. They always said I had an old soul. I digress…again.

I kept my jewelry relatively simple with a gold watch and bracelets. Less is more  in this case.

This is an outfit I can pretty much wear anywhere- well within reason- and be well-put together AND comfortable.
