Ah! Fashion! Am I the only person who’s fascinated by its repetitive nature? Styles that are currently trending were all the rage in the 90’s. It wouldn’t be too far-fetched to imagine that there is in existence a “Fashion Trend Determination Committee” that is responsible for bringing to the forefront fashion blasts from the past. They, singlehandedly, break open fashion time capsules from which emerge trends from yesteryear.
If my fashion history knowledge serves me correctly, everyone and their Mamas wore bodysuits in the 90s. Lo and behold, it’s 2017 and they’re back! Well, actually, they’ve been back since 2016 or so, but some of us have only just hopped onto the bandwagon. Bodysuits have made a comeback in a huge way, and for the most part, the reception has been warm. I can’t speak for the entire female population; however, I can certainly speak for myself- bodysuits are almost the best thing since sliced bread! I mean what’s not to love about them? I can’t resist the smooth, polished silhouette they allow one to attain. You don’t have to worry about your top getting untucked and looking sloppy. You don’t have to concern yourself with constantly adjusting your shirt tails into place. If that’s not a buy in for you then you’re missing out on life’s simple pleasures.*chuckle*
Well, this week’s post is about…you guessed it- bodysuits! Well, one in particular; I call her Princess Chic. Why, you may ask? Well, the name is attributable to the sassy, girly vibe this bodysuit from Romwe emits. The baby pink color and ruffles make for an ultra-feminine vibe, and the long sleeves give it a sophisticated edge. It is definitely high on my current favorites list. I mean what’s not to love about it? The cut, fit, color, fabric, and style are all perfect! I would be remiss if I failed to mention the unbelievable price point and the fact that it’s versatile enough to wear all year around. I’m sold, and add tax to that!
The fabric has a little bit of stretch to it; however, I’d recommend paying key attention to the size chart to avoid ordering an incorrect size. Before I forget, this bodysuit has snap on buttons in the nether regions that will make your life so much simpler. Just think, you don’t have to worry about completely disrobing when nature calls. Believe me when I tell you that I factor in issues such as this before I buy any clothing item. Hence my love-hate relationship with rompers/playsuits/jumpuits. But that’s a story for another day…
I chose to pair Princess Chic with a leather skirt for a classy look. I kept my jewelry simple, opting for a simple gold watch. For footwear, I strutted an imaginary runway in my current favorite pair of nude heels. Overall, this bodysuit outfit is an effortlessly chic look that is uber simple to put together. The femininity of the body suit and the sassiness of the skirt make for a lethal combination. In the future, I will pair Princess Chic with a pair of jeans and sandals for a casual look; with a pair of shorts and loafers for a preppy look; or with a pair of high-waisted pants and a pair of heels, for a classy chic look. Style options are without a doubt not limited to the aforementioned. Feel free to let your creativity flow!
Now, the best part of the blog- this is where I reveal my style secrets. *drumroll*
