Who starts a commentary with a question? I sure do! Can someone explain to me how we made the switch from Summer to Fall in the blink of an eye? It is mind-boggling! Oh, well. *shoulder shrug* Tis the season to be in jumpsuits! Well, let me rephrase that. Tis the season to be in thick fabric jumpsuits! Wait, did you think that jumpsuits are only limited to Summer? Au contraire! The right jumpsuit can be worn anytime from Spring to Fall. Winter would be pushing it just a tad. Even jumpsuits have their limits. Lol.
This week, I’m shining the spotlight on this electric royal blue number that has stolen my heart. It was love at first sight when I saw it on a random person on Pinterest! I searched high and low for the seller of this beauty- I was determined to bring it home! After hours of searching keywords like “blue classy jumpsuit” “royal blue jumpsuit” with tons of irrelevant hits coming up, it happened. I had finally found it! With my eyes locked on the screen and battling an irrational fear of my computer crashing before I purchased it, I hurriedly reached for my purse. I was not going to risk losing what I had already labeled ‘my favorite jumpsuit.’ Fast forward to payment, shipping, and delivery, and here we are. This is our love story. 😀
Besides the obviously striking color, I was immediately drawn to the overall effortlessly classy vibe this jumpsuit gives off. It has the whole “I look put together, but I did not spend a ton of time doing so” facet that I absolutely love! It’s a great way to make a style statement in a subtle way.
Let’s talk details why don’t we…
It has buttons that run from the neck to the tip of the right shoulder. This allows for versatility, depending on the look you are trying to achieve. For a more conservative look, you can choose to button up. For a fun and flirty look, unbuttoning to reveal the cold shoulder detail is the way to go.
The jumpsuit has a detachable belt, that comes in handy for waist-cinching purposes. Also, the pockets ensure that the overall look is not stiff and boring. Contrary to what your pre-school teacher taught you, putting your hands in your pockets is not a rude gesture. *chuckle*
The following are a few ways you can wear this jumpsuit:
- With the detachable belt that comes with the jumpsuit
- With an alternative belt e.g. a metallic gold or silver belt
- Buttoned up for a prim and proper look
- Buttons open for the coveted cold shoulder look
- Throw on a fitted leather jacket on a cooler day/night
- Don a statement necklace for an extra dose of va-va-voom
Did I mention that the fit of this jumpsuit is absolutely perfect! It is a chic piece that I will definitely get a lot of wear out of. The fabric is heavy enough to wear in Fall and lightweight enough to wear in warmer months. Also, it’s classy enough to wear to work. For a business casual environment, you can wear it as is. If your work environment adheres to a stricter dress code, you can throw on a blazer by day, and take it off for happy hour after work.
Style Tip: Before you purchase an outfit, consider your styling options. Ask yourself how many ways you can style it, and where you can wear it to. Utilizing this one style tip has saved me a ton of money, by ensuring that I don’t waste cash on items I won’t get much wear out of.
I styled the jumpsuit with a gold watch, and fun African print clutch. For footwear, I chose a pair of blush colored, pointed toe heels that are surprisingly super comfortable.
I will be wearing this electric blue number as much as I can while we still have warm weather out here in Texas- which is pretty much until November. If you live in a frost belt area and are already bundled up in coats and gloves and everything in between, my heart goes out to you .*chuckle Seriously though, you can still buy this jumpsuit and save it for Spring. A fashionista always thinks ahead, yes?
As always, I’m all about sharing my style finds. You can shop the entire look here.
Now go forth and be dapper!
