This holiday season has been one of our busiest yet! Needless to stay, when the opportunity to get away from the hustle and bustle of our jam-packed schedule was presented to us, we grabbed it! The Westin DFW hotel would be our staycation and associated unwinding and recharging location. Staycations are a great way to break away from monotonous daily routines to enjoy a new environment, without the hefty price tags associated with vacations to faraway places. You would be surprised by the world of difference to your energy levels and morale a staycation can have!
Back to the matter at hand…
Westin DFW hotel is conveniently located in the city of Irving, Texas, a short drive away from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport–hence its name Westin DFW. The city of Irving is central to many local Dallas Fort Worth metroplex sights and attractions. This is definitely a perk if you desire to explore, without the need to venture out too far.
We had previously stayed at the hotel a couple of years ago; however, we were in for an unexpected surprise when we found out that it had recently been renovated. From the moment we arrived at the property, we were taken aback by the updated décor, amenities, and overall attention to detail. We absolutely love what they have done with the place!
The hotel offers a wide array of hotel room options including the following: standard guest rooms, suites, executive suites, and a presidential suite. We had the honor of staying at the grandest room options—the presidential suite. To say it was an epic experience would be a gross understatement! This was definitely a staycation that would be remembered for time immemorial.
Serving as a luxurious home away from home, the presidential suite is as grand as its name sounds. It is a fully-loaded living space, complete with a living area, dining area, kitchenette, office corner, powder room, and master ensuite bedroom. Did we mention the suite offers sweeping aerial views of the city of Irving? We highly recommend the presidential suite, especially so if you have a large party. Nothing beats enjoying the comforts of home upgraded to the tenth power. True story!
We loved the contemporary décor at BYRN Western Grill, the delectable menu options, and overall ambiance. They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and the dress code is casual.
The Market is open for breakfast and offers an expansive breakfast buffet, a la carte options, and a room service menu. Also at the property is The Café, a coffee house where you can grab your favorite drinks and light bites.
The hotel boasts a rooftop pool that is open seasonally. Given the fact that our hotel stay was in the fall, we did not have an opportunity to use the pool. However, we can totally see why it would be the place to hang out in warmer months. Imagine soaking in the sun’s rays by the pool, while enjoying aerial views and sounds of planes preparing to descend upon the DFW airport.
If you are planning to get some work done during your stay at Westin DFW, you will be pleased to learn that there is an onsite business lounge. The space has comfortable seating areas ad an ambiance that is set up for working in a relaxed atmosphere. Even if working is not on your priority list, the business lounge still serves as a great nook to sit back and relax.
Fitness is high on our priority list, even while traveling. We were so excited about discovering the hotel’s fully-loaded fitness center. Nothing beats being able to continue our exercise routine, even while away from home.
We also loved the fact that the Westin DFW offers a free shuttle service to and from the Dallas Fort Worth International airport. This definitely comes in handy for travelers who need quick and easy access to the airport. Not having to spend any additional money on transportation to and from the airport is definitely a plus, wouldn’t you say?
