Howdy there! Welcome to a new week at Afrostylicity! Is it just me, or do weekends zoom by entirely too fast? I literally felt like I blinked and*poof* the weekend was gone! Speaking of weekends, I recently met up with fellow Dallas-based blogger Cindy also known as @foreign_fresh_fierce  (note that I will use both interchangeably) a few Sundays ago for a fun-filled photo shoot. There are few things I fancy more than winding down the weekend with photo shoots at amazing locations!

Backstory: I first met Cindy at a blogger event a few months ago, and I was immediately drawn to her unique sense of style. Similar to me, specific to style,  she prefers not to blend into the crowd and chooses instead to chart her own style path.  Therefore, the decision to engage in a collaborative photo shoot and associated blog and social media content did not require any persuasion.

Now back to the narrative at hand…

Cindy and I met up at the upscale Crescent Court area of Uptown Dallas on a late Sunday evening, a fortnight ago.  The scorching Texas summer sun had bid us adieu for the day, much to our delight! Clad in gorgeous African print outfits courtesy of our friends over at Melangemode, we were eager to get the photo shoot and chit chat session rolling.

The amazingly talented Dallas-based Luisa’s Secret would be our photographer for the evening. Without much further ado, the photo snapping, wine sipping, and chit chat session commenced. For the benefit of those unfamiliar with Cindy and her brand. I asked her a few questions, answers to which await you below.

Afrostylicity: How long have you been a blogger?  What drove you to launch your blog? What niche of blogging do you subscribe to?

Foreign_Fresh_Fierce:  I have been blogging since May 2016 and love it! I blog about Fashion, Travel, and Beauty! I first started by having a second Instagram page. While on vacation a friend noticed I took a lot of photos and asked what I did with all of them. So I decided to actually blog and share all my vacation and fashion photos!

Afrostylicity: You have a unique blog/brand name, what is the history behind it?

Foreign_Fresh_Fierce: Well, it was the tag line I had on my personal Instagram page. I love everything Foreign Fresh & Fierce! I love foreign music, movies, men (lol husband is Italian) and love to travel! I am also African and bilingual in Italian. Fresh because I love fresh and new things and Fierce because I love standing out.

Afrostylicity: How would you describe your personal style? What inspires it?
Foreign_Fresh_Fierce: I’d say my personal style is colorful and chic! I tend to mix and match colors in my wardrobe. Colors that you wouldn’t normally put together I find looks great and is very unique! I can be simple and wear neutrals, but I will always have a pop of color somewhere! I don’t like to blend into a crowd!

Afrostylicity: What is your favorite current trend and why?

Foreign_Fresh_Fierce: I love ruffles and bell sleeves! The bigger the ruffle and bell, the more I love it! I feel like it’s the girliest fashion statement trend that every woman should have!
