FYI: This will be the first of two posts about Cancun, with this one focusing specifically on the resort life.
Oh, Cancun! How little we knew about you until we set foot on your white sandy beaches! Truth be told, our knowledge base of Cancun was limited to visions of happy-go-lucky college kids living their best lives during Spring Break. Therefore, when the opportunity to visit Cancun was presented to us, we jumped on it, eager to either confirm or dispel the “party city” narrative. A fortnight ago, we unclasped ourselves from the tight embrace of our Texan winter, traded winter boots for flip flops and set forth on our Cancun adventure.
We would be in Cancun for just shy of one week; therefore, a comfortable place to stay was high on our priority list. After a little research, we chose the Oasis brand of hotels and resorts for our accommodation needs. Our decision was mainly influenced by their all-inclusive perks and their properties close proximity to the beach. For the purposes of this post, we will focus on the five properties that we had direct experience with.
Tip: The all-inclusive perk means that food and drinks are included in the room price, but some restrictions may apply. Additionally, each room has a mini-bar at no additional cost.
We stayed at the Grand Oasis Palm Resort, located in the ‘Hotel Zone’, an area that has rows upon rows of beachfront hotels and resorts. Grand Oasis Palm Resort, referred to as the Family Resort, has amenities that cater to everyone from toddlers to senior citizens. The ambiance is family-friendly and chock-full of good vibes and great times.
Upon check-in, (which by the way is strictly from 3 pm)we were provided blue wrist bands that gave us access to all the restaurants, bars and all amenities at the Grand Oasis Palm property. Additionally, we had access to all the other Oasis resorts and could enjoy their unique amenities at no additional charge. We only needed was a day pass from our primary resort, and we would be able to head on our merry way to explore the other locations. Grand Oasis Palm is right next door to Oasis Palm resort, so not much effort was needed to access it. The other resorts we toured, namely Grand Oasis Sens, The Pyramid at Grand Oasis and Grand Oasis Cancun were only a short bus ride away. We loved the fact that the Oasis resorts cater to all manner of clients; each resort has its own unique selling points. Some of the amenities like Coffee &Me were present in all Oasis properties, while other amenities were specific to certain locations. Variety is the spice of life, right? Each property had a myriad of restaurants and bars to choose from, catering to pretty much every palate. There was an option of buffet-style dining or plated meals. We indulged in a little bit of both and enjoyed both experiences. The food was delectable!
Let’s break down each resort based on the amenities on site, why don’t we?

Would we stay at the Oasis Hotels and Resorts again? That is a resounding yes! We loved the overall experience- the staff, the ambiance, the amenities, the locations, the vibe. We loved it all! We highly recommend all-inclusive resorts. You would be surprised by how fast expenses add up when your food and drinks tab is separate from your hotel room price. Speaking of food, let’s take a moment to talk about all the food we ate. There were no holds barred! Lol. Thankfully with all the walking we did around the resorts, we didn’t have to worry about packing on unwanted pounds.
Note that the Oasis resorts have a wide variety of room styles to fit your specific preferences and budget. We recommend getting an ocean-view room if you can like we did. We had an unobstructed view of both the ocean and nearby lagoon. Nothing beats waking up to the sights and sounds of the ocean. Ah, nature in all its unadulterated glory!
In summary, we LOVE the myriad of amenities offered at each of the Oasis resorts we experienced in one form or another. We LOVE that they cater to all manner of clients. Is an adults-only resort your cup of tea? They have you covered! Are you seeking a family-friendly experience? They have you covered! Is entertainment your priority? They have you covered! Are you all about a luxurious experience? They have you covered! Your choices are limitless, fam. We enjoyed our Oasis experience immensely and we will definitely be staying at more Oasis resorts in the foreseeable future. Dear #OasisLovesU: we love you too. Thanks for the good times!
