ToggleIntroduction to The Beeman Hotel Dallas

Specifically, it is near the renowned Southern Methodist University (SMU) Dallas Campus. Additionally, it is approximately 5 miles from downtown Dallas, and is at the perfect location to explore the best of what this North Dallas nook has to offer.
Beeman Hotel Dallas Renovation and History
Before the most recent rebranding and renovation in 2020, the building that is now The Beeman Hotel was originally a Radisson Inn, thereafter a Holiday Inn, and subsequently a Magnolia Hotels Dallas’ property.
Our Suite at Beeman Hotel
Our accommodation during our stay at the hotel was the John Beeman Suite. Notably, it is the highest-tier suite at the hotel and is located on the ninth floor of the building.
The first thing we noticed when we walked into the suite was the awe-inspiring space. We were mesmerized by the unique decor, distinct detail of the furnishings and finishings, and the overall vibe of pure hospitality that this home-away-from-home emitted.
Oh, and another key point to note is the hardwood floors. We love that the hotel has done away with wall-to-wall carpeting, which is the norm at most hotels.
Our suite had the following features:
- An 8-seater dining area
- A spacious living space
- Bar area complete with a small sink, refrigerator, an espresso maker, cutlery, crockery, and silverware
- Kitchen area with a sink, a dishwasher, and a microwave
- Bedroom with a king bed, workstation, and another refrigerator
- Spacious private bathroom with a water closet and shower
- A massive walk-in closet by the bedroom, a smaller closet in the hallway by the door; and finally, a half bathroom by the hallway.
It pretty much felt like a homey condo, complete with all the spoils of luxury!
Note that the ninth floor, the highest floor of the building, features a seating area, complete with a sectional couch right by the elevator. It can be a great place to relax.

What Did We REALLY Think About The Beeman Hotel?
All in all, the Beeman Hotel’s expert team made every effort to ensure that we had a pleasant stay. However, in the spirit of offering constructive criticism, there are a few things we wish the hotel would incorporate to enhance the guest experience.
What We Wish The Beeman Hotel Had
- For security reasons, it would be great to have a key card requirement to access the hotel guest room floors. This would prevent unauthorized individuals from accessing these areas of the hotel.
- At the time of this publication, there is only one on-site restaurant. Generally, a variety of dining options to appeal to more palates is ideal.
- Equally important is complimentary bottles of water for hotel guests. In general, two bottles per day is the standard at other hotels. Our only option was two bottles of water, priced at $5 each.
- Another key point to consider is an updated checkout time of 12:00 PM, as is the norm at most hotels. The current checkout time is 11:00 AM.
What We Loved About The Beeman Hotel
All things considered, The Beeman Hotel is a nice hotel, and a good place to take in a unique dose of Dallas. As travelers who are drawn mostly to luxury hotel experiences, our accommodation in the John Beeman Suite certainly fit the bill.
The hotel may not have a 4+ star rating; however, it more than makes up for it with the contemporary art and decor and thoughtful amenities. Without a doubt, our stay at the hotel made for a an exciting local staycation!
