The Joule Dallas Hotel is a luxury hotel n the heart of downtown Dallas, in the bustling central business district. Specifically, it is located in a historic revitalized 1920’s landmark Dallas building. In this authentic review of the Joule Dallas, we are sharing what the hotel is really like, as well as recommendations for a memorable hotel stay and overall Dallas experience.

Introduction to The Joule Dallas Hotel 

The Joule Dallas is a luxury boutique hotel that is strategically positioned in the cultural epicenter of downtown Dallas. It is located in a renovated 1920s historic building that also houses the original Neiman Marcus store.

Joule Hotel’s location makes it the perfect vantage point to view the best of what the metropolitan city of Dallas has to offer.

Luxury designer Adam D. Tihany spearheaded the clever design and transformation of The Joule into the masterpiece that it is today. 

Fun fact: The flagship Neiman Marcus store by The Joule is the corporate headquarters of the brand. 

How to Get to The Joule

Flights 

If you are traveling to Dallas from out of town, note that there are two main airports in the area. Dallas Fort Worth International Airport  (DFW) services both international and domestic flights; whereas, Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL) only services domestic flights.  

DFW airport is approximately 30 minutes drive from The Joule.

Dallas Love Field Airport is closer at approximately 20 minutes drive from the Joule.

Upon arrival in Dallas, you can then make your way to The Joule via airport transport service, taxi, shared-ride services like Uber, or you can rent a car. Find car rental deals here.

Train 

For out-of-town travelers to Dallas, another mode of transportation to consider is an Amtrak train. Amtrak’s Texas Eagle Train has a Dallas destination, with the closest station to The Joule being Union Station in downtown Dallas. 

Note that for rail service within Dallas, the closest DART rail station to The Joule is the Akard Station.

Drive

Driving to The Joule from the Dallas area and beyond is fairly straightforward. However, note that given the hotel’s downtown location, parking may be a hassle. For convenience, you can choose to use the hotel’s valet service. If you would rather source your own parking, you can find parking lots and garages near the hotel.

Our Experience at The Joule Dallas

The Joule Dallas’ ambiance was an unexpected but delightful marrying of luxury and welcoming charm. From the moment we set foot on the property, the staff took it upon themselves to ensure that our stay was not only comfortable but also chock-full of pleasant experiences. We were ushered into the Joule experience with glasses of complimentary champagne as we waited to be checked in. Subsequently, we raised our flutes in the air and toasted to what we anticipated would be a phenomenal experience.

Upon exploration of The Joule, our first impression was one of complete awe. We were particularly drawn to the stunning contemporary design of the property. Equally, we were enamored by the distinguished collection of original artwork and dramatic art installations in public spaces.

The hotel’s art displays include pieces by Andy Warhol, Richard Phillips, and mosaics by Millard Sheets. Each visual masterpiece that made up the impressive art collection was without a doubt of utter magnificence.  We felt like we had unrestricted access to a one-of-a-kind art gallery. It was truly a sight for sore eyes!

Our Hotel Room  

We stayed in a spacious deluxe room that offered a breathtaking view of the Dallas skyline. We even had an unobstructed aerial view of the famous Dallas eyeball. It is definitely one of Dallas’ unique must-see (see what we did there?) local attractions. 

Our room had the usual hotel amenities including the following: a flat-screen television, refrigerator, bathrobes, snack bar, a minibar, etc. Additionally, they also had some provisions that were the exception to the norm like a tablet and Apple TV subscription. 

The room had stunning Merbau wood floors that gave the space an alluring vibe. There was a designated lounge area, complete with a comfortable couch and coffee table. It was an ideal nook to curl up with a good book. We did not feel inclined to work during our staycation; however, there was a desk and chair available in the event that we chose to.

Our modern style bathroom was a major win in our books, given the Jack and Jill design, complete with stainless steel sinks. We were also sold on the waterfall shower with multiple settings, perfect for creating a spa-like experience.

The Joule Dallas Guest Rooms and Suites

The Joule Hotel boasts an impressive selection of 160 lavish rooms and suite options to meet each guest’s unique accommodation needs. Depending on your room or suite type, there is an option of connecting rooms. Each Joule Hotel room or suite has relaxing rain showers; soft, luxurious Sferra sheets, and room service.

The following rooms and suites are listed in order of size, from smallest to largest. 

• Deluxe Rooms feature a king-sized bed, a queen bed, or two double beds plus a workstation. 
• Premier Rooms are more spacious than Deluxe rooms and offer comfortable seating. Rooms are available with either a king-sized bed or two double beds. 
• Demi Joule Rooms have double bedrooms.
• Joule Suites come complete with a king-sized bed, workstation, pull-out sofa, and a palatial bathroom. 
• Deluxe Suites have a king-sized bed, spacious lounge area, and a large bathroom. 
• Terrace Suites each have either a king-sized bed, queen bed, or two double beds. The suites open up to an outdoor rooftop terrace, with a view of the Dallas skyline. 
• Loft Suites are two-story luxurious suites that each have a king-sized bed. The suite includes a  living space, executive workspace, and two expansive bathrooms. 
• Deluxe Loft Suites are another two-story suite option that each has a king-sized bed. Additional suite features are a 6-person dining table, living area, and large luxurious bathroom. 
• Penthouses at The Joule are the creme de la creme of accommodation options. They include the Penthouse Suite, Penthouse Loft, and Penthouse Rooftop. They range from one to multi-story penthouses, all undoubtedly the epitome of absolute luxury at a price point starting at over $10,000 per night. 

 

On-Site Restaurants at The Joule Dallas

The Joule has the following restaurants on-site, open to both hotel guests and the public. 

Sasseta is an Italian restaurant that serves a delectable selection of fine food, wine, and more. 

Midnight Rambler is a bar with a cocktail menu that is second to none

CBD Provisions (Central Business District Provisions) is a modern Texas brasserie that celebrates Texas culinary traditions.

Weekend is a coffee shop that serves the most aromatic coffee and lite bites. 

 The Lobby Bar is located in (you guessed it, the Joule Lobby) and has a relaxing vibe that is popular among locals.

Note that Americano, the Italian restaurant inspired by retro Italian cinema,  and that was previously at The Joule, closed permanently. 

Amenities at The Joule Dallas

The Joule Dallas Spa

The world-class spa at The Joule offers a full range of services including body massages, skincare, European heat experiences, etc. The subterranean spa also has a crystal steam room, ice fountain, and vitality pool for maximum rejuvenation. 

Also on hand are house cars to transport guests to and from their spa appointments, within a limited mile radius. However, note that at least 48- hours’ notice is required to request the car service. 

The Joule Fitness Center

There is an onsite 24-hour access vital fitness studio at The Joule. Included are cardio machines, strength training equipment, free weights, yoga mats, etc. 

The Joule Swimming Pool 

The Joule has a unique off-ledge-like 8-foot swimming pool. Also available is an adjacent pool bar. Time spent at the pool will without a doubt be a one-of-a-kind experience. A Note that the pool is only open during the spring and summer seasons. 

Concierge Service

There is a concierge service available to serve as a guide to guests as needed. They can arrange for a shuttle service to drive guests to locations within 5 miles of the hotel. They can also provide restaurant recommendations, and pretty much all guests need for a comfortable stay.

Meeting Rooms and Event Spaces

If you are in need of a meeting room or conference space at The Joule, they have you covered. There are large meeting spaces that include catering, event setup, and more. 

The Joule is also a great event space to host and celebrate special occasions. The rooftop terrace, in particular, caught our eye, with its sweeping views of downtown Dallas. We could envision how absolutely stunning a cocktail party or even a wedding reception would be there. There is also an expanded ballroom that is a great option for events as well.

Valet parking is available at an additional charge. For self-parking, the following are parking garages near The Joule.

Notable Mention: The Joule Hotel Staff

Every member of The Joule staff that we encountered was friendly, making our overall hotel experience that much more pleasant. The customer service was unquestionably fantastic!  The most compelling evidence of this is the recovery of our property.

We realized that we forgot one of our bags at the hotel, several days after our stay. Much to our relief, when we called the Joule’s front desk, the staff informed us that our bag was safely stored in their lost and found department. Words can’t describe the extent of our gratitude when we picked our bag, with all items within intact!

Long story short, if you ever forget your personal belongings at the property, rest your mind- The Joule will safely store them for you until you are able to pick them up. 

Shopping at/ near The Joule Dallas

The hotel has onsite stores open to guests and the public. Therefore, if retail therapy is calling your name, your stay at The Joule will offer the convenience of easily accessible shopping experiences. 

The Hotel Shop 

On sale at The Hotel Shop are a variety of items including books, ceramics, wellness products, gifts, and more. 

The Taschen Library 

Taschen Library is an onsite bookstore at The Joule, offering an impressive selection of books to sell. There is also a cozy reading area within the store where you can relax and immerse yourself in your books.

Traffic LA is a high-end clothing boutique store offering men’s and women’s stylish fashion pieces 

Forty Five Ten

Forty Five Ten is another upscale store that sells luxury designer women’s shoes, jewelry, beauty products, and handbags.
