Tickets for these football events must be purchased separately through the respective universities’ athletic offices or official ticket outlets.
However, having a ticket to one of these football games grants you access to the fair on that day.
In short, you cannot use a fair ticket to access the football games, but you can use your football game ticket to access the fair.

How to Get To the State Fair of Texas
There are several convenient ways to get to the State Fair of Texas at Fair Park:
Use the DART Rail System
Using the DART Rail can save on parking fees and traffic congestion.
The DART Rail Green Line stops at Fair Park Station (on Parry Avenue at the entrance).
The Green Line generally runs every 10 minutes and provides frequent and reliable service.

Ride the Trinity Railway Express (TRE)
Trinity Railway Express connects from various stations in Dallas and Tarrant County to Victory Station. From Victory Station, transfer to the DART Green Line to the Fair Park station.

Uber, Lyft, and taxi services pick up and drop off at designated areas near Gate 1 (Pacific & Gurley).
Tip: When we went, we used 4206 Gurley Ave, Dallas, TX 75223 as the Uber drop-off point. We were dropped right outside the entrance where the Ferris Wheel is.
Bicycles
You can find bicycle racks inside Gates 5, 6, and 11; however, security does not permit bicycles beyond the pedestrian gates.
Parking at the State Fair of Texas
If you choose to drive, there are several official lots around Fair Park. Here are the key details:
- Cost: Parking at the State Fair of Texas in 2025 costs $30 per space at official fairgrounds lots.
- Location: The easiest and most convenient parking is accessible via Gate 2 at 925 S. Haskell, Dallas, TX 75223.
- Disabled Parking: Designated parking spaces for disabled visitors are available throughout the fairgrounds on a first-come, first-served basis and require a valid license plate or hang tag.
- Hours: Parking gates open daily at 9:30 a.m., and fair entry gates open at 10 a.m.
- Overnight Parking: Not allowed, except for designated RV parking during the Texas vs. OU weekend, which comes with extra fees and specific rules.
- Payment: Parking fees can be paid by cash or credit card at the gate unless prepaid.
- Additional Options: Private off-site parking lots are available nearby, and rideshare pick-up/drop-off zones are located at fair entrances.
- Bicycles: Bicycle racks are available inside Gates 5, 6, and 11 on a first-come, first-served basis. However, bicycles are not permitted beyond the pedestrian gates on the fairgrounds.
What to Know About the Texas State Fair Entry Process
When you arrive at any of the fairground entrances, you will go through a security check.
The first step will be a weapons detection system, which you will walk through (similar to the airport security experience).
Your bag(s) will then be searched, and any prohibited items will be confiscated. Once searched, a colored band may be placed on your bag to indicate that it has been inspected.
The next stop will be the ticket counter, where you will present your valid ticket. In our case, we had digital tickets that the fair staff scanned to grant us entry.
Tip: If you haven’t purchased a ticket yet, you can do so with one of the ticket agents.
Entering and Re-entering the State Fair of Texas
Once you enter the fairgrounds, you can leave and come back the same day without having to pay for admission again. However, you must have a hand stamp or a valid re-entry pass issued at the gate.
Be prepared to undergo security screening again upon re-entry, which will include bag checks and walking through the weapons detection system.

You can purchase coupons at designated coupon booths and automated coupon kiosks around the fairgrounds, or online in advance at BigTex.com.
Tip: If you purchase coupons online, you must pick them up in person at the coupon booths at the fair. You will need to present a valid form of identification and the credit card used for the purchase.
Payment methods accepted at coupon booths and kiosks include cash, credit/debit cards, and Apple Pay (Apple Pay acceptance is specifically at automated coupon kiosks).
Note that coupons cannot be replaced if lost or stolen and are non-refundable. However, they are reusable and do not expire, so you can carry them over to use the next time you go to the fair.
FYI: Each coupon costs $1 and is equivalent to $1 in value.
